EV VW Beetle (There’s a theme brewing.)

This 1974 VW Beetle has been converted to full electric.  100% green, emissions-free driving.  (Yeah, yeah, coal-burning power plants produce emissions, but per unit of energy, they produce far less than a ’74 Bug.)  Anyone who loves Mutter Earth should love this car.

EV Midget Build – Part 3 Front Suspension and Steering

Now that the golf cart was stripped, I had pretty much all the parts I needed to build this thing.  Now the task was just to meld together two different sets of parts that really, let’s face it, have no business being together.

EV Midget Build – Part 2: Harvesting Organs

As I sat in my folding chair at the 2011 Fathers’ Day car show in Wendover, Nevada, I watched several of the other participants buzzing around the parking lot in golf carts, Jazzy scooters, and a motorized cooler.  It was then that it hit me.  Let’s put a golf cart drivetrain in the midget and bring it to car shows!

The “Why Not?” EV Midget Build – Part 1

Why would you merge a 1979 EZ-GO electric golf cart with a late ’30s midget race car?

Why wouldn’t you?

Two Plymouth Arrows back-to-back? At NeedThatCar, all things are possible.

So, in pouring over photographs of the Plymouth Arrow in the previous post, I stumbled upon yet another Arrow Sport for sale.  This one has something very special to offer:  8,900 original miles.  It deserved a post of its own (don’t worry, it’ll be short).

’80 Plymouth Arrow Sport – Near and Dear

This is a 1980 Plymouth Arrow Sport pickup.  Excuse me while I take a moment.  *sigh*  I will get back to that sigh in a while.  For now, feast your eyes on this beauty.  It’s orange, it’s got killer 1980s stripes, and it’s for sale here on ebay in Camillus, New York (a suburb of Syracuse).  You will definitely want to read more.

Organize an Opulent Outing in an Opel Oplympia (1950).

Who here can say they haven’t always wanted an Opel Olympia?  (Wow, that’s a lot of hands.)  Well, perhaps you will want one after reading this post.  This Opel is something you don’t see every day.  Why?  probably because very few were ever brought to the U.S.  Opel was based in Germany and did not export this car to America.

More on Opel and this Olympia after the jump:

Time Capsule: 42k mile 1987 Suzuki Samurai

This Suzuki Samurai is well-preserved to say the least.  It is in amazing condition for an early Samurai.  Most rotted away, rolled over, or have been upgraded beyond the point of recognition.  The seller of this one claims its purpose has been to serve as a tow-behind vehicle for RVing, so a portion of the 42k miles was not even under its own power.  Find it here on ebay.

Yugo. The “The Jerk” of cars.

Well here’s something you don’t see every day.  A Yugo, in running condition, actually looking pretty nice, in Texas.  This Cabrio is probably the most well optioned model ever offered in the U.S.

1966 Nova-mino. Just like Chevrolet would have done.

I usually advocate that you go buy the cars featured here.  That is not the case with this one.  Not because it’s not a great car, but because they are asking $45,000.  This is a 1966 Nova station wagon (with a ’67 grille) converted to an El Camino…beautifully converted.
